Signs that refacing may not be appropriate include water damage, warping, delamination of the box material, or significant pest damage. We inspect every cabinet during our consultation and will honestly recommend refacing only if your existing boxes will support the investment.
Can I change the layout of my cabinets during a refacing project?
Refacing maintains your existing cabinet layout since the boxes stay in place. However, we can add new cabinets to fill gaps, extend a cabinet run, or add features like a
pantry cabinet or
wine rack. If you want a significantly different layout, a full custom cabinet project may be a better fit. We will advise you on the best approach during the consultation.
What door styles and finishes are available for refacing?
You have access to the same full range of door styles, wood species, and finishes available for our new custom cabinet projects. This includes shaker, raised panel, flat panel, beadboard, and slab door styles in maple, cherry, walnut, white oak, and other species. Painted, stained, glazed, and natural finishes are all available. We bring samples to your consultation so you can see and feel the options in your own kitchen.
Will my countertops and backsplash be affected?
No. Cabinet refacing does not require removing or modifying your countertops, backsplash, plumbing, or electrical. Everything stays in place.
